Building a Brighter Future Together
The Legacy Project of Stark is dedicated to transforming communities and impacting lives through the power of high-quality mentorship opportunities, leadership development, and intentional partnerships. We aim to place identified Stark County students in age-appropriate, high-quality mentorship programs in collaboration with their local school districts and community partners.
Founded in 2015 by Eugene Lingenhoel, The Legacy Project of Stark began with a vision to support students in need. After delivering supplies to Lehman Middle School in Canton, Ohio, Eugene was invited to mentor students, leading him to leave his sales career and pursue full-time mentorship. He partnered with Jenn Warner, who developed the organization’s curriculum, and together, they began recruiting adult volunteer mentors. Since then, the organization has grown to serve over 3,500 students with the help of approximately 800 volunteer mentors across Stark County .
